Leila Dall’Olmo

Actor, Writer, Producer

Based in New York City

About Me!

Hi! My name is Leila and I am an actor based in New York City and local to Los Angeles. Bi-coastal! I am a recent graduate from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama, where I trained at both the Meisner and Strasberg studios. While at NYU, I have performed in multiple productions with the Meisner studio–my most recent being Cherrywood, directed by Caroline Neff of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

I also studied Classical Performance at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London– where we performed Shakespearean texts as well as devised pieces. While there I also trained in broadsword stage combat, in which I was certified with distinction by the BASSC.

Aside from acting, I have a passion for books and poetry. My favorite poet is Mary Oliver, who I believe captures the joy of the present in a way no one else has come close to.

My most recent project, Nadja, began in a Surrealism class. Inspired by the work of André Breton, my partner and I sought out to bring what we saw was an utterly relatable story to modern audiences. It has since gained recognition and acclaim from multiple festivals. It was released on NoBudge in the fall of 2024. Click here to watch.

Upcoming Projects 〰️

  • I have recently joined the cast of the Kangalee Arts Ensmble’s spring workshop. Premiering in Midtown, this play promises to bring the audience to the forefront of the action. Blending art, politics, poetry and more, this play will take a page out of the Living Theatre’s philosophy for art and action.

  • I am in the midst of producing this NYU Thesis film! "An Encounter" follows Eli, whose Friday night takes an unexpected turn when he rollerblades to a Grindr date, leading to his transformative first queer sexual encounter and causing him to confront his conflicting feelings about relationships and intimacy. It is a dramedy (like LIFE itself!) about loneliness, desire, and exploration, and will be shot on beautiful 16mm color film.

  • Adding another notch to my production belt, I will be taking on the role of producer for this independent musical, which premiered originally at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival! Currently being workshopped again, we hope to premier it in New York City this summer!
